Propelling Maritime Innovation: GT Wings Advances Airwing Deployment

Sustainable Wealth Group (SWG) has supported GT Wings, a developer of wind-assisted propulsion systems (WAPS) for the maritime sector, by introducing the company to members of its investor network as part of its early fundraising activity.

GT Wings previously completed a £500,000 funding round following engagement with SWG's network of high-net-worth and sophisticated investors. The company has since continued to progress the development of its AirWing™ wind-propulsion technology.

GT Wings is now undertaking a wider £2 million funding round, led by Grieg Kapital, with participation from Blackfinch Ventures and One Planet Capital, to support the next phase of manufacturing readiness and commercial deployment.

Driving maritime decarbonisation

The AirWing™ system is designed to assist vessel operators in reducing fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. The technology is being developed in the context of increasing regulatory focus on maritime emissions, including the introduction of FuelEU Maritime, which sets more stringent emissions-intensity requirements for shipping.

Commenting on the company's progress, Harvey Knight, CEO of Sustainable Wealth Group, said:

"We were pleased to introduce GT Wings to members of our investor network during its earlier fundraising phase. Our role is to help early-stage companies engage with relevant investors and build awareness as they develop. GT Wings has continued to advance its technology and is now working with a group of established investment partners as it moves towards commercial deployment."
